Chuck Taylors & a Wide Angle Lens

Questionably the best weekend of the year

Counting down the minutes until the clock hits 5:30pm. I am SO excited to be  heading home for one of my favorite weekends in Dublin - the Memorial Tournament.

Not only will I be able to see my parents (Happy 30th Anniversary shout out; 30 years is a REALLY long time…), my little brother and some of my best friends, but the BF, MM and her fiance are coming along.

It’s the BFs first time coming home with me to the Tournament and I feel like it’s an enigma to him. I’ve talked about it so much, and he has had the opportunity to experience it- until now! It’s also the first time MM will come back to Dublin and meet all my high school and college friends.

Overall, I’m stoked (yes, I said stoked) for this weekend and I. cannot. wait!

Frustration

Honestly, it was a pretty darn good day until about an hour ago. I feel like I was just kicked in the stomach, and it’s my fault. Don’t you hate when you screw up at work…

Weekend photo recap.  This weekend included:

  • Friday - returning to my German heritage at Prost for dinner and drinks, followed by trying to hang with my brother and his friends who are still in a college mindset [ie. consuming way too much alcohol]
  • Saturday - barely functional enough to move, but made it to the movies to see The Avengers with the BF. The BF has been so good to me lately, I had to take one for the team on the movie selection, but I was pleasantly surprised!
  • Sunday - [almost] back to normal. Kicked off the day with a run along the lake in the hot summer weather, followed by baking in the sun at the White Sox / Indians game and a evening cookout / entertaining drinking games.
  • Monday - used to regroup my life and continue reading 50 Shades of Grey. I swear, it’s a book you can’t put down. Should provide for good discussion at my book club next month

Overall, I’d say it was a very successful weekend, and it got me excited about all my upcoming summer plans!

Celebrating my little brother’s 24th birthday last night. I’m paying for it today, I can’t function like a normal human. I certainly can’t hang with him anymore!

Finished painting the master bedroom and I love how it turned out! I even convinced the BF to help. Now onto the next item on the checklist - carpet. Finished pictures coming soon-ish!

Starting on the master bedroom tonight. Staying focused, trying to finish cleaning and taping.

Motivation is to make it to margs with the girls tomorrow night!
